The Resort at Longboat Key Club

Island-side Course
Known as the "watery challenge", Longboat Key Club's 6,792-yard Links on Longboat borders the Gulf of Mexico and features water hazards that come into play on all 18 holes – making accuracy off the tee essential.
More than 5,000 palm trees and pink and white blooming oleander line the course's fairways and canals, making Islandside one of Florida's most spectacular golf courses. Tifdwarf grass on the greens ensures smooth putting surfaces, while the course's setting in a protected bird sanctuary guarantees an abundance of colorful "birdies" during your play.

Harbour-side Course
This course consists of three nine-hole courses designed by Willard Byrd of Atlanta. The Red Course is 3,323 yards; the White Course, 3,426 yards; and the Blue Course, 3,386 yards. The championship layout provides a completely different golf experience from the Island-side Course. Bordering Sarasota Bay, the course plays through virgin stands of live oak, sabal palm, strangler fig, palmetto, fiddleleaf palm, Washingtonian palm and southern pine.

Private lessons and group clinics are available with PGA-certified pros

Both Island-side and Harbour-side courses are PGA approved, each with its own driving range and recently expanded fully stocked pro shops. Each course offers a clubhouse facility with indoor/outdoor dining and beverage service. Locker rooms are equipped with lounge areas, showers, sauna, television, and an attendant on duty for towels and shoe cleaning. Bag/club storage is complimentary. Golf club rental is available at both courses.

Dress Code Soft spike golf shoes are required. Appropriate attire and footwear must be worn on the courses and practice facilities. Swimwear, short shorts, blue jeans, tennis shorts, cut-offs, tee-shirts, tank tops and mesh shirts are not permitted. Gentlemen's shirts must have collars.

General Golf Rules Electric carts are provided for all play on a year round basis. Walking is not permitted. Each individual player must have a set of golf clubs. Rental sets are available. Singles and twosomes will always be paired if possible. Five-somes or larger groups playing together are prohibited. An adult must accompany children under the age of 16 in order to use the facilities. Individuals who are not actually playing a round of golf will not be allowed on the golf courses.

Golf School The Golf School offers a variety of teaching methods including computerized video analysis on the "Computer Coach" system. Players have the opportunity to have their swing recorded on video, then digitized by computer. Swing technique is compared to those of the professionals by using a split screen technique. The student's swing can be overlaid onto the greats of golf including Nick Price, Nick Faldo, Patti Sheehan and Davis Love. The instructor analyzes the student's technique then makes recommendations with the ultimate goal of lowering the player's handicap. In addition to computer swing analysis, over thirty swing aids are at the disposal of the instructors for use in their tailor-made lessons. Both the swing aids and the computer provide instant feedback to the student. Complete club fitting and repair services are also available at The Golf School. A frequency matching machine is used in conjunction with a lie and loft machine to ensure that the student's golf clubs are ideally suited to their swing style, body type, height and weight. Club repair, re-gripping, and re-shafting services, as well as demonstration clubs from all the leading club manufacturers are also available.
